Main Products and Services
AIRMOD ( Real time AI-powered respiratory monitor): The result of lung sound auscultation from our multi-channel stethoscope/microphone is delivered both audibly and visually to the healthcare professionals, in a non-invasive way. Clinicians not only can hear the adventitious sounds, if any, through continuous monitoring and broadcasting, but also see the waveform changes from spectrogram in real time, prompting timely management. Our innovative technology can identify adventitious sounds clearly and efficiently to ensure early diagnosis and treatment. Patients that may be beneficial from our product include those requiring respiratory monitoring, those with cardiovascular diseases, whose conditions resulting in abnormal lung sounds, as well as those requiring continuous and remote monitoring in the surgical theaters and critical care unit.
Roadmap for market expansion
1.Single-channel respiratory monitor: for patients under non-intubated sedation/anesthesia
(1)Non-intubated sedation/anesthesia is being performed 4 million and 106 million times annually in Taiwan and in U.S., respectively, and the number is growing rapidly, which is a market with significant potential.
(2)In order to minimize additional expanse and liability issues related to frequent events of apnea associated with non-intubated sedation/anesthesia, medical associations in U.S. have mandated continuous ventilatory monitoring a part of the procedure in the clinical guidelines. In Taiwan, a special regulation has also put in action, asking for personnel and facility to meet the more stringent standard.
(3)Our product has been used 334 times in respiratory monitoring during non-intubated sedation/anesthesia in Taiwan, assisting doctors for procedures like upper/lower GI endoscopic examinations, and in fields including sleep apnea, pediatric dentistry, pediatrics, OB/GYN, general surgery, and plastic surgery. The outcomes and feedback both came back positive.
(4)We are currently in clinical collaboration with Stanford Sleep Surgery Center in North America, and closely contacting with Kaiser Permanente for clinical application of our product.
2.Multi-channel respiratory monitor: for patients with respiratory failure or undergoing heart/lung surgeries
(1)Critical care claims most of the hospital resource and demand high efficacy, especially for respiratory diseases and highly contagious pneumonia (like coronavirus disease 2019, COVID-19). Remote and continuous respiratory monitoring makes it possible that clinicians in the nursing station or office obtain ongoing respiratory condition of patients in the individual rooms or even isolation rooms without direct contact to infectious source, minimizing the risk of cross-infection. They can also retrospectively compare current data with earlier recordings, facilitating clinical judgement and adequate management.
(2)In thoracic surgery requiring one lung ventilation, our device is the perfect means to ensure correct intubation and continuously monitor ventilatory status of the breathing lung.
(3)Our product is the potential diagnostic solution for COVID-19. We are willing to cooperate with healthcare institutions in the effort of combating COVID-19 through our capability of detecting early signs, less need for unnecessary contact with patients, high monitoring quality, and abnormal sound detection-alert system, fulfilling our mission and responsibility as a corporation.
Future applications
1.Home care setting: a tool to monitor pneumonia, COPD, and asthma at home.
2.Clinical institutions: make respiratory measurement part of major physiological parameters, incorporating respiratory parameters into the current monitor system.
